Stuart Connelly graduated from Syracuse University’s prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where he studied writing, film and advertising.

With Civil Rights icon Clarence Jones, Stuart wrote the critically-acclaimed Behind the Dream: The Making of the Speech that Transformed a Nation and Uprising: Understanding Attica, Revolution, and the Incarceration State.

He is the screenwriter and director of Image Entertainment's crime thriller The Suspect and ITN’s American Gothic, as well as the producer of the coming-of-age drama Natural Selection.

Stuart is a National Educational Press Association Award winner for his work with Scholastic Publishing and founder of the San Francisco-based advertising agency Topeka. He writes for the online news destination the Huffington Post and his fiction is currently taught at the Algonkian Writer’s Workshop alongside luminaries like Mark Twain, Flannery O’Connor, Franz Kafka and Raymond Carver.
